Thank you!
We are glad that you renewed your leases and have decided to stay with us for another terrific year. For those who are new to our community, we would like to welcome you home. We don’t think it will take long for you to realize that you’ve made great choices selecting Glen Oaks Commons as your new home. As always, if there is anything more we can do to make your home more enjoyable, please let us know.

Referrals
Often the best way to find good fortune is through other people, so we’re looking for your best connections. Glen Oaks Commons knows that you surround yourself with friends and family who are just as reliable and friendly as you, and we want them as residents. But there’s something in it for you too. For every person who mentions your name during his or her initial meeting and then goes on to sign a lease with us, we’ll give you $300.00*. See, having connections does pay off! *Restrictions apply

Social Gatherings
Glen Oaks Commons is excited about the spring season in our community. Keep an eye out for updates!

Rent Café
Why worry about paying your rent? Remember if you haven’t already signed up with Rent Café, you can pay your rent online, submit maintenance requests and much more!

Day Light Savings
Have You Seen the Light? You soon will because daylight-savings time begins on Sunday March 10th. Welcome the long days of summer by remembering to turn your clocks ahead one hour at 2:00am. If you can’t recall which way to set your clock, Glen Oaks Commons reminds you to use the popular saying “spring forward, fall back.”

Spring Cleaning
It’s spring cleaning time! A clutter-free balcony or patio improves the view from your home and from the street. Because we take a great deal of pride in our community, we would like to ask each of you to take a moment to make sure your balconies or patios are tidy. Your efforts help make this one of the most attractive communities around.

Also, keeping your carpet clean and damage free is easy! Just remember to remove all stains promptly with safe materials (contact the office if you’d like to request more information regarding safe removal), and vacuum often (two times a week is usually sufficient). Use throw-rugs to preserve high traffic areas.

Renters’ Insurance
Your home contains the most valuable possessions you own so keep them protected. It is a requirement that every resident have renter’s insurance. This can be obtained at a very reasonable rate. The community’s insurance policy does not cover your personal belongings. We have brochures in the leasing office if interested.

Maintenance Corner
Toilet Maintenance
To avoid stopped-up toilets, please do not attempt to flush any foreign objects other than toilet paper. If your toilet should overflow, immediately remove the tank cover, reach inside and push the flapper firmly into the hole in the bottom of the tank. Call the office for service. Residents may be charged for problems caused by attempting to flush foreign object, including paper towels, facial tissue, sanitary products, disposable diapers, etc. We appreciate your cooperation.

Garbage Chute Use
Over the past three to four months Glen Oaks has noticed an increase in the amount of boxes being thrown down the trash chutes in each building. Currently these boxes are being thrown away intact. We ask that the residents break down or disassemble these boxes prior to disposal. Broken down boxes take up less room in the dumpster helping to prevent the dumpsters from overflowing into the lobby areas. Glen Oaks Commons wants to thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Counter Top Maintenanc
Please remember that the laminate countertops in your kitchen can be scratched and stained fairly easily. To keep them looking their best, take the following precautions:

  • Never cut anything directly on the countertop-use a cutting board.
  • Immediately wipe up any substances that may cause staining.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners-they can scratch the laminate.
  • Use potholders and trivets to keep the countertops from being scorched by hot pots, baking pans, etc.

We appreciate your efforts to keep your home neat and attractive.

Pest Control
If you notice any bugs or pests around your home, please call our office the exterminator is here every Tuesday.
